Error while trying to update Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

Hi all this morning, as usual I was kind updating my Ubuntu and part of my normal system maintenance check up and find this error, while trying to update my system.

It seems strange to me, after a quick google - I found a work around on this website on AskUbuntu forum.. http://askubuntu.com/questions/599112/google-chrome-ppa-upgrade-invalid-signature.

"
Open a terminal and enter the following:
wget -q -O - https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub | sudo apt-key add -

That will import Google's updated GPG Key.

You should be able to update the system without any errors.

Issues with VMware 8 wont run Kernel 3.8 wont let VMware 8 & 9 work

When I try to launch VMware workstation, I get the following error:
Before you can run VMware, several modules must be compiled and loaded into the kernel CANCEL / INSTALL

No errors, when I select INSTALL nothing happens just closes.
I install manually:
sudo apt-get install open-vm-tools open-vm-tools-dev open-vm-dkms open-vm-toolbox open-vm-tools-dev
But already installed to the latest versions.
I will start a bounty to fix this.
Ubuntu 13.04 64bit

pst007x@pst007x-Serval-Professional:~$ uname -a
Linux pst007x-Serval-Professional 3.9.0-030900-generic #201304291257 SMP Mon Apr 29 16:58:15 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I have uninstalled and reinstalled all components, but same problem.
I have tried a different Kernel, but end up with the same problem.

Tried this as suggested: here

#!/bin/bash
cd
cp -prn /usr/lib/vmware/modules/source /usr/lib/vmware/modules/source-backup
mkdir fixed
cd fixed
find /usr/lib/vmware/modules/source -name "*.tar" -exec tar xf '{}' \;

cd /lib/modules/`uname -r`/build/include/linux
ln -s ../generated/autoconf.h
ln -s ../generated/utsrelease.h
cd

vmware-modconfig --console --install-all

cd
rm -rf fixed
cd /lib/modules/`uname -r`/build/include/linux
rm autoconf.h utsrelease.h
cd /usr/lib/vmware/modules/
rm -rf source-backup
cd

Didn't work, results of script in terminal:

Got files separed from norm HTML

After meet up with team members we decide to migrate the site from norm HTML to PHP, the all projetc will take quite a while to finish, but so far the foundations, of the project are already laid down.. Quite interesting to see how this process is unfolding down ...

  • Cut all the code and past in a separated document
  • Save the new document with a different header name with .php file extension.
  • Then import the content of the heading document into the main html document using the include* function - [ include is part of php library ]
Seems like all gone as we were expecting, but bear in mind that we faced some bugs when we tried to apply this approach the first time  ... Here it goes the output still getting the original content but keeping all the information rendered on server..

Here follows a screen shoot of the file the way it was before it been changed .. All the HTML markup in just one page ..

VMware Workstation 8.0.2 does not Work with uBuntu 12.04 LTS

Hi there ...

About some day ago, I have updated my system,

I'have created this post to share, the way I have troubleshoot and successfully update the Linux Kernel make VMware Workstation 8.0.2 work and Kubuntu 12.04..

Installing VMware 8.0.2 64bit
Ubuntu 12.04LTS 64bit BETA
My Kernel version is: 3.2.0-20-generic
pst007x@pst007x-Aspire-5741:~$ sudo sh VMware-Workstation-Full-8.0.2- 591240.x86_64.bundle
Installs ok
When I launch I am asked to install modules which are compiled and loaded into the running kernel.
A window opens
VMware Kernel Module Updater
This fails on Virtual Network Device
UPDATE:
When I try to add patch, following error:
 pst007x@pst007x-Aspire-5741:~$ sudo sh patch-modules_3.2.0.sh
 [sudo] password for pst007x:
 patch-modules_3.2.0.sh: 27: [: workstation8.0.2: unexpected operator
 patch-modules_3.2.0.sh: 28: [: workstation8.0.2: unexpected operator
Sorry, this script is only for VMWare WorkStation 8.0.2 or VMWare Player 4.0.2.
 Exiting
 pst007x@pst007x-Aspire-5741:~$
I have fully un-installed, and re-installed. I am installing the correct version. Probably a problem with the patch. VMware installs perfectly on Ubuntu 11.10..
.. Here is how I've worked it out ..

Move to Home folder

  1. VMware-Workstation-Full-8.0.2-591240.x86_64.bundle
  2. PATCH: patch-modules_3.2.0.sh
  3. PATCH: vmware3.2.0.patch
Patch download link (xtact contents to Home folder):
